The Girl Scout program still includes traditional activities like camping, selling cookies and performing community
service, but with a new twist. Girls don't just camp anymore, they go rock climbing, backpacking and navigate ropes courses.
Girls don't just sell cookies; they learn important life skills such as communications, goal setting, money-management,
marketing, sales, math, science, technology and teamwork. Service provided to members include:
- Girls, ages 5-17, help to improve their decision-making ability, increase their self-esteem, appreciate diversity
and individuality and contribute to their community.
- Life enriching experiences, such as field trips, resident camps, community service projects, cultural
exchanges, and environmental stewardships, which helps girls develop their full potential.
- Recruitment and training of adult volunteers, who help maintain Girl Scouting in their local communities
or who work directly with girls.
- Materials developed and published for the use of troops/groups.
- Program sites and equipment which includes our two camp sites, Camp Red Rock and Cookieland.
- Connection to Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. and to World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts.
