Girl Scouts welcomes girls from all religious, cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Self-confidence, responsibility, integrity, creativity, decisiveness and teamwork - these are the skills of a great leader. And these are the skills that today's girls are learning in Girl Scouts.

  • Studies show that being a Girl Scout has tangible benefits for girls both in their youth and as adults.
  • Two-thirds of the women listed in Who's Who in America are Girl Scout alumnae.
  • A recent Louis Harris poll (1999) shows two-thirds of women in professional achievement are Girl Scout alumnae - and many attribute their success in later life to youth-serving organizations such as Girl Scouts.
  • The evidence is clear, Girl Scouting truly does help today's girls become tomorrow's leaders.
